The screen printing prices listed by the Custom Logo Factory reflect the customer providing a design that is "100% READY FOR PRODUCTION". If a design is not "100% READY FOR PRODUCTION", then design and pre-production fees will be charged as a part of the job, as this graphics work requires the time and knowledge of a highly skilled professional.
The Custom Logo Factory is happy to work with outside designers, agencies and design-oriented customers who wish to provide art that is "100% READY FOR PRODUCTION", so that these fees can be avoided. We suggest, however, that only those who are highly experienced in design and screen printing production attempt to provide final artwork to us.
OF CRITICAL IMPORTANCE: THE QUALITY OF THE ARTWORK CREATED AND READIED FOR PRODUCTION DIRECTLY AFFECTS THE FINAL LOOK OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT. IF YOU DECIDE TO USE SELF-DESIGNED OR PREVIOUSLY-DESIGNED ARTWORK THAT IS LESS THAN 100% PERFECT TO SAVE A FEW DOLLARS IN ART CHARGES, THEN IT IS REASONABLE TO EXPECT THE FINISHED PRODUCT TO BE LESS THAN 100% PERFECT. WE SIMPLY CANNOT PRODUCE PERFECTLY PRINTED CUSTOM LOGO PRODUCTS WITHOUT PERFECT DESIGN AND PERFECT PRE-PRODUCTION.
Listed below are the technical requirements that will ensure perfect screen printing production from the Custom Logo Factory.

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A LOGO OR GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR SCREEN PRINTING
Art that is "100% READY FOR PRODUCTION" means that an art staff member will be required to do no more than open a digital file and hit the print button, or scan a piece of camera-ready art directly to the film printer. IF ANY FURTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED, THEN ART PRE-PRODUCTION CHARGES WILL BE BILLED. Standard turn-around time for pre-production work is three business days; if a shorter time period is required, a rush charge of 20% will be added to any fees charged.
DIGITAL FILES: Digital art files include those designs created and saved from a professional graphics program or those designs exported from a graphics program at HIGH RESOLUTION.
Our file format of choice is a generic eps file that can be opened and resized at any size and resolution we require. Acceptable exported files include eps, gif, jpeg, or bmp, SO LONG AS THESE EXPORTED FILES ARE PROVIDED AT THE FULL SIZE OF THE INTENDED REPRODUCTION AT HIGH RESOLUTION (a minimum 300 dpi). Any and all fonts must be included with the exported file, or all fonts must be turned to paths prior to export.
Our program format of choice is Macromedia's Freehand, with the design spot-color separated with no trapping or overprinting. Acceptable graphic program formats include files created by Photoshop, Freehand, and Illustrator. Please note that MICROSOFT WORD, POWERPOINT OR PAINT PROGRAM FILES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE DIGITAL FILES AND CANNOT BE USED! To output properly, any and all attachments and fonts must be included with the native file, or all fonts must be turned to paths.
TO BE CONSIDERED "100% READY FOR PRODUCTION" AND AVOID PRE-PRODUCTION CHARGES, ALL FILES MUST MEET THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED ABOVE AND BE FULLY SPOT-COLOR SEPARATED! If a provided file must be color separation by the Custom Logo Factory before it is output to film, then the time that it takes our graphics person to create these spot color separations will be billed to the customer. (The only exception: for 4-color process print jobs, files should be provided unseparated in standard RGB format, to be separated to our specs as a part of the process job setup fee.)
CAMERA-READY ART: Artwork presented as camera-ready must be crisp, clean black and white line art. Camera-ready art may not have any colors or halftones in it (unless a low line screen halftone is to be a part of the print). Camera-ready art must be output at a minimum of 300 dpi, with 600 dpi suggested; any art presented at a lower resolution than 300 dpi runs the risk of being jagged and reproducing poorly. We are not responsible for any print flaws generated from art presented at a resolution less than 300 dpi.
TO BE CONSIDERED "100% READY FOR PRODUCTION" AND AVOID PRE-PRODUCTION CHARGES, ALL CAMERA-READY ART MUST BE FULLY SPOT-COLOR SEPARATED, WITH EACH SPOT COLOR PRESENTED ON A SEPARATE PAGE! If a provided piece of one-color camera-ready art requires color break separations before it is output to film, then the time that it takes our graphics person to create these spot color separations will be billed to the customer.
FILM POSITIVES: If the customer or his agency is highly knowledgeable about the screen printing process, then that customer can provide film positives to the Custom Logo Factory. All film positives should be provided a minimum resolution of 300 dpi at actual print size, and already spot color separated using butt-registration. There are many variables involved for different types of products and production formats; detailed discussions with the art department prior to providing films are welcomed.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A LOGO OR GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR SCREEN PRINTING
The best in professional artwork and design services are available from the art staff at the Custom Logo Factory! Using our professionals to create your logo from scratch provides not only a high level of aesthetics, but also ensures that the designs will translate perfectly into screen printed and/or embroidered works.
All time spent on a design project will be tracked and billed to the customer, including the time spent on discussing concepts and making revisions to the concepts presented.
Feel free to discuss ideas, time estimates and fees prior to submitting your order to us, so that both parties clearly understand the expectations and all of the potential applications for the design prior to development.
Standard turn-around time for graphic design created from scratch is three business days; if a shorter time period is required, a rush charge of 20% will be added to the fees charged. Standard turn-around time to color separate existing art is also three business days; likewise, if a shorter time period is required, a rush charge of 20% will be added to the fees charged.
Remember that our staff artists will also work with you to produce designs and formats that you can provide to other service providers: lithographic (paper) printing, web site developers, large format graphics, etc. You've paid for the design work -- why not receive full value for your creative dollar and get a CD of the art in various file formats! See the Schedule of Fees for details.
